The stories that define us

Australia's government just officially announced a recession ⠀

Here's what that means for us as individuals:⠀

Whatever story we tell ourselves about the recession may just come true… ⠀

If we tell ourselves that our current jobs are at risk then our current jobs may be at risk.. ⠀

If we tell ourselves our freedom is at risk because of our spending power then our freedom will be at risk because of our spending power. ⠀

If we tell ourselves we will not be hired due to a failing economy then … you get the point.. ⠀

We are defined by the stories we tell ourselves…not the recession, not coronavirus, not our race, not the media, and not the opinions of others ⠀

Proof? Uber & Whatsapp were born out of a recession… and the recession did not dictate their outcome. ⠀

Far more dangerous than the GDP rates are the stories we tell ourselves. ⠀
